National Tidy Town Winner 2014


The Keep Australia Beautiful Tidy Towns program  recognises the hard work undertaken by rural and regional community groups schools, businesses, individuals and councils and showcases the innovative ideas and initiatives that improve sustainability in regional areas. In 2014, 1300 entries were submitted for the awards from across Australia, with Sheffield named the National Tidy Town for 2014.

Mayor Don Thwaites and representatives from the community accepted the award at the ceremony held on the 4th of April at Victor Harbor, South Australia.

Sheffield also took out the Resource Recovery and Waste Management Award, and received two highly commended awards for Environment Innovation and Protection, and Energy Innovation
