


Council has agreed to undertake some infrastructure projects with Federal Government funds. The projects include pointing of the brickwork at the Kings Hall at Railton, renovation of the old court house behind Service Tasmania, installation of a solar hot water system on the Kentish Visitor Information Centre and the removal of asbestos from the Sheffield Youth Centre.
Council has approved the closure of some of our roads on Sunday February 28 2010 to allow Rally Tasmania to undertake their event in Kentish. The rally will be stopping over in Railton and Sheffield during this time. Contact Council for the specific road closure details.
Council has approved $9000 in grants to community groups in Kentish. Projects include contributions towards solar hot water installation at Lorinna, kitchen refurbishment at the Kentish Rodeo ground, the replacement of a fence at the Wilmot Sports ground and new shade cloth and an improved wash down area at the Railton Bowls Club.
