Q. What do KYC-START actually do?
A. KYC-Start were created as a special committee of young people to communicate with council, act as a voice for young people in the community and establish a clear means available to young people to put forward suggestions and ideas.
Q. How often do they meet?
A. The Kentish Youth Council meets twice a month.
Q. What are KYC Start's objectives?
A. KYC Start's objectives are-

enable young people to work together to create positive images of young people in the Kentish Community

bridge the gap between young people and adults

provide young people with an opportunity to be part of the process of being involved in Council's decision-making

provide a voice for young people in the community

identify current issues

involve young people in decision-making processes

source external funding for specified projects and activities
-
determine and prioritise funds from it's budget for youth activities in accordance with priorities set by KYC Start
Q. How do I join?
A. If you wish to join please contact Demi Bellchambers, committee secretary on just_d3mi@hotmail.com or alternately contact the Senior Youth and Community Development Officer via the website. Although members are selected according to available spaces and merit any young person between 12 and 25 is welcome to come along and have their say.
Q. What if I don't want to join but have an idea?
A. If you have ideas and suggestions that's great! There are several ways you can make your voice heard- approach one of KYCs members with your ideas, come to a kyc gathering, submit your ideas via the form provided here on the website or contact Demi or Andrew Jewell, Senior Youth and Community Development Officer directly.
