ROADWORKS - CRADLE MOUNTAIN ROAD, MOINA

Published 22nd June 2023
Treloar Civil and Quarries will undertake remediation works for the slip on Cradle Mountain Road at Bell Mountain, Moina, from Tuesday 27th June.

There will be some disruptions to motorists as the road will be reduced to one lane with traffic control lights while the works are in progress. At this stage, no road closures are planned.

The works are expected to take three to five weeks, and updates will be provided on any changes.

The scope of work includes:

  • Excavation/rock ripping 3-4m into the embankment on the west side of the road for approximately 130m to allow for road realignment away from the edge.
  • Reestablishment of open drain and upgrade culvert pipe.
  • Block stabilisation along the top edge of the slip.
  • Installation of 20m safety barrier
  • The new left lane will be almost at the existing centreline.

Since the attached photo was taken, the slip has progressed, and barricading has been moved towards the centreline.

Motorists are urged to drive to the conditions and obey all traffic directions.
