Waste Collection Reminder

Timing: Place your General Waste, Recycling, and FOGO bins on the kerb the night before collection day or by 6am on the day of collection.
Bin Requirements: Only council-provided bins will be emptied. Foreign bins will not be serviced.
Additional Services: For additional bins, upsized bins, or bin repairs/replacements, please contact the council.

Waste (garbage) & FOGO collection is fortnightly on a Friday. Bins need to be on the kerbside by 6 am on the day of collection. The service is available in the Sheffield, Railton, Barrington and South Spreyton areas. Check the collection area map here.

If you would like to be supplied with mobile garbage, recycling & FOGO bins, please complete an

Application for Garbage/Recycling/FOGO Collection and return it to Council. Please note that the Recycling and FOGO bins are supplied with the Garbage Collection Service and are not optional.

Recycling

Recycling collection is fortnightly on a Friday and bins need to be on the kerbside by 6 am on collection day. Collection Dates for 2025 are:

Public Holidays - Closed on Christmas Day and Good Friday Public Holidays.

Safe Battery Disposal

Batteries should never be put in general waste or recycling bins. Batteries should be taped and disposed of using a dedicated battery disposal method such as B-Cycle. Batteries may be disposed of at the Council Office, 69 High Street, Sheffield. Further information is available in the Battery Safety Awareness Brochure.
