Impounded animals
The information on this page is intended to help reunite animals with their owners.
This page is regularly updated during working days. We apologise for any technical issues that may prevent updates.
- Identifiable dogs are kept at the Council Pound for up to five days.
- We will make every effort to reunite animals with their owners during this time.
- If you are picking up your animal, you will need to pay a release fee and associated costs.
- Dogs that are not registered will need to be registered before they are released.
You can go to the Pound at Dogs Home Of Tasmania at 13 Race Course Road, Spreyton to collect your animal.

Surrendered or impounded dogs that are not claimed by their owners may be sold.
Council is not be liable for:
- any claim, demand, action, loss or damage of any kind arising out of the incorrect description of any animal.
We do not accept any responsibility for matters arising from the use of the information on this site.
The Impound register will be cleared quarterly.
